Pieces of You

One of my recently acquired hobbies is exploring new coffee shops, all I ever spend money on these days are basically coffee and food... These pictures were taken on a rainy Sunday, which I spent in the corner of a cafe with my new 'Bible', the book that replaced The Picture of Dorian Gray on my bedside table. It's a collection of short stories by one of my favourite musicians, and pretty much my favourite artist ever, Tablo.
I've come to prefer the personality of books, rather than the story in them. For me characters, sceneries, feelings, and thoughts are much more important than the plot. Now that I think of it, I wonder if it's the same in real life.

=meOw=

Ever since I first saw this Kayla Mattes crop top, I knew I had to have it. What better manifesto of my life than a print containing cats and internet on a piece of oversized clothing...
But instead of expressing my love for this top with words, I will just flood this post with cat gifs and hope you're all in public places while making all these socially unacceptable noises as you look at them. (Because I can.)

Oxford Vintage Fair

When I went to the Oxford Vintage Fair, I was trying not to get my expectations too high, and even contemplated leaving when I saw the massive queue outside of the Town Hall... Luckily I stayed, and ended up being pretty much blown away by how well the event was organised. After a few minutes I was inside staring at a huge amount of beautiful vintage pieces everywhere I looked.
Not to just throw words of praise, there were, as I'd expected, stores that kind of rode on the wave of popularity vintage clothing has at the moment. But most of the stalls were not the case. As for the prices, it wasn't a thrift hunt, sometimes the items were quite overpriced, but in most cases I was pretty sure Urban Outfitters or Topshop had a manufactured version in stock for way more money. I remember thinking as I was browsing through all the great clothes and accessories for about two hours, and taking an unhealthy amount of photos, that even if I didn't buy anything, the £2 entry would be totally worth the inspiration flowing from all directions. I shouldn't get too sentimental about my relationship to fashion, but it wasn't unlike going to an art gallery.

Feather

I have a love-hate relationship with English weather. While I'm grateful for not having to boil and apply high factor sunscreen (I hate being tanned.), it's not quite normal for the central heating to be on in mid May... Although these pictures are a few weeks old, the weather's fairly the same, if not worse.
On a lighter note, I finally own the perfect grandma sweather, it's all you'd want it to be - furry, pastel-coloured, warm, comfortable, and a little bit awkward-looking. And since it's hand-made, I forgive it the bit of hairs it leaves behind on every black surface.

Harajuku Days

Last week I was writing this essay on Japanese pop culture, and it resulted in my sudden desire to have a bit of a flashback to my 'Harajuku days' (kudos to those who recognised the Epik High reference). So I put some neon pink and yin yangs and creepers and badges of brands that still make my heart go doki doki...
